Canadian country music superstar gets up close and personal at River Run Centre November 10

GUELPH, ON August 22, 2018 – Dean Brody showcases his depth as a songwriter and unparalleled ability to bring storytelling to the forefront of country music with his compelling intimate acoustic tour. Hitting the road and travelling from coast to coast, Brody brings his Dirt Road Stories Acoustic Tour to River Run Centre Saturday, November 10 at 8 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Richardson GMP Music Series and sponsored by 106.7 Country.

While Brody is now firmly cemented as an arena touring act, performing at the country’s most iconic venues, many of Brody’s songs were in fact written at his kitchen table. This acoustic tour is meant to replicate that setting that inspires his original works, “I want to give my fans a window into how my songs were written, how they sound in their rawest form, performed in an intimate theatre setting” says Brody.

It’s no surprise that Brody won the coveted Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Fan’s Choice Award in 2017, along with the Songwriter of the Year and the award for Top-Selling Single of the Year with his classic country style and authentic lyrics. This is to complement Brody’s impressive list of accolades, including a total of 16 CCMA Awards and two Junos under his studded belt.

Brody’s ability to tell stories with genuine feeling flows through all of his singles, of which Dirt Road Scholar and Undone, broke into the top five on Canadian radio. Dirt Road Scholar also hit number one on CMT, becoming the most spun song by a new Canadian country artist in 2009. With unrelenting energy and drive, after his first self-titled album, Brody signed with Open Road Recordings to put out the next five albums: Trail in Life, Dirt, Crop Circles, Gypsy Road, and Beautiful Freakshow.

His most recent album, Beautiful Freakshow, continues to keep listeners on the edge of their seats. Just as the title of the album suggests, the new record is a fascinating mashup of Brody’s range of musical preferences, with contributions from hip-hop artist Shevy Price, rocker Alan Doyle, indie musician Sarah Blackwood, and hints of pop-meets-country sprinkled throughout his latest tracks.

Dean Brody’s Dirt Road Stories Acoustic Tour also features supporting artist Andrew Hyatt, an up and coming Canadian country musician who is quickly making a name for himself on the Country Radio Top 10.
