Acclaimed Canadian indie band brings ‘The One Last Time Tour’ to Guelph

GUELPH, ON October 25, 2019 – Energetic Canadian rockers Hollerado have built a devoted legion of fans during a celebrated musical career. The acclaimed indie band brings “The One Last Time Tour” to River Run Centre Wednesday, November 13, at 8 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Magic Music Now Series.

After more than a decade of packing venues, producing radio hits and travelling the world, Hollerado announced this year it would complete one last album and bid farewell with a North American tour. The band released its final recording, Retaliation Vacation, in June and is currently on the road for its last hurrah.

“A rock band that’s worth getting excited about,” Beat Route magazine says of Hollerado.

The members of Hollerado – brothers Jake and Nixon Boyd, Menno Versteeg and Dean Baxter – are known for their do-it-yourself spirit. After forming in 2007, the band created its own record label, Royal Mountain Records, before releasing its first album, Record in a Bag, in 2009. A stream of indie hits followed for the Manotick, Ontario band, with songs including Juliette, Americanarama, Got to Lose and Fake Drugs raising Hollerado’s profile across Canada and internationally.

Hollerado gained widespread attention after the release of its second full-length album in 2013, White Paint. To promote the recording, the band offered a package that included a vinyl record, a T-shirt, a poster and the promise of a custom-made song. That promotional promise turned into a two-year musical undertaking that resulted in 111 custom-made songs for fans of the band. The collection 111 Songs was released on digital format in 2015.

Hollerado performed more than 2,000 shows throughout its career, including tours cross North America, South America, Europe and China. Along the way, the band shared the stage with artists including The Flaming Lips, Weezer, Beck, Gang of Four and Portugal. The Man.

Alternative pop and indie rock artist Deanna Petcoff opens the River Run Centre performance. Inspired by the music of David Bowie, Joan Jett, Lou Reed and Patti Smith, Petcoff is acclaimed for her warm vocals and songs filled with a sense of longing, hope and beauty.

Tickets to see Hollerado and opening artist Deanna Petcoff cost $55 for adults, $53 for seniors and $39 for those under 30. Tickets can be purchased at River Run Centre box office, 35 Woolwich St. in Guelph, by calling 519-763-3000, or online at riverrun.ca/hollerado.

Hollerado is presented by River Run Centre as part of the Magic Music Now Series. River Run Centre is funded in part by the Government of Canada and gratefully acknowledges 2019-2020 season sponsor, Richardson GMP.
