Famed funnyman Mike MacDonald performs at River Run Centre Friday, October 20

GUELPH, ON October 4, 2017 – Hailed as the “King of Canadian Comedy,” Mike MacDonald will deliver an evening of laughs when he performs at River Run Centre on Friday, October 20, at 8 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the GuelphToday.com Comedy Series.

In addition to acclaimed standup performances across North America, MacDonald has been featured on the Comedy Network, HBO, Showtime and Late Night with David Letterman. He’s also made 25 appearances on the CBC Television program Just For Laughs, more than any other comedian.

A master of turning adversity into laughter, MacDonald has lived life like an open book, never shying away from talking about his personal battles during performances. In 2011, he was diagnosed with Hepatitis C and two years later underwent a successful liver transplant operation.

MacDonald has since returned performing full-time, wowing audiences with his “Recovery Story,” a gut-wrenchingly funny but brutally honest take on his experience. It’s a routine that led the Montreal Gazette to declare “the king is definitely back.”

Considered one of the top comedians in Canada, MacDonald’s River Run Centre performance will resonate with a wide audience, proving he’s a comedian who knows first hand the healing power of laughter.

Tickets to see Mike MacDonald cost $52 for adults and $50 for seniors and students. $20 uGO tickets are available to university and college students with valid ID. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID. Tickets can be purchased at River Run Centre box office, 35 Woolwich St. in Guelph, by calling 519-763-3000, or online at riverrun.ca/mike-macdonald.
