Famed comedian and impressionist plays River Run Saturday, February 13

GUELPH, ON January 28, 2016 – River Run Centre will welcome the man of a thousand voices to the Main Stage when André-Philippe Gagnon performs his unique brand of impressionist musical comedy on Saturday, February 13, at 8 p.m. as part of the centre’s Comedy Series. Sponsored by Syngenta.

Internationally known for his ability to mimic the world’s best-known singers, Gagnon’s fast-paced delivery blends comedy and song, creating an unforgettable entertainment experience. His ability to deliver an impression per minute never fails to leave audiences awestruck.

“A vocal chameleon,” the Montreal Gazette said of Gagnon. “A vocal illusionist, outstanding,” noted Variety magazine.

Over the past three decades, Gagnon has performed sold-out shows at prestigious venues across North America and Europe, opened for Celine Dion on her Let’s Talk About Love world tour, performed for Prince Charles and Lady Diana and held extended runs at Casino Venetian and Casino Paris in Las Vegas.

The Québec-born Gagnon first rose to international fame following his performance at the 1985 Just for Laughs festival in Montreal, where he flawlessly impersonated every artist featured in the song We are the World, famously written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and recorded by USA for Africa. That performance led to an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, which launched Gagnon’s incredible and lasting career.

Called an “impressionist extraordinaire” by Las Vegas Today, Gagnon continues to maintain an extensive touring schedule, offering audiences a show featuring incredible impressions, musical entertainment and countless laughs rolled into one.

Opening the evening’s show will be comedian Graham Chittenden, whose fresh and clean but relentlessly funny style has won fans across Canada.

Chittenden is a familiar face at the Just For Laughs festival, as well as on television and radio, including CBC’s The Debaters and Match Game. He has shared the stage with comedians including Gerry Dee, Andrea Martin, Howie Mandel and Bob Saget.

Tickets to see André-Philippe Gagnon and Graham Chittenden start at $44 for adults and $42 for seniors. $20 uGO tickets are available to university and college students with valid ID. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID.
