GUELPH, ON January 8, 2016 – Gord Bamford, Canada’s reigning king of country music, performs River Run Centre’s Main Stage on Friday, January 22, at 8 p.m. as part of the Richardson GMP Music Series. Sponsored by Country 106.7.

Australia-born and Alberta-raised, Bamford is a 19-time Canadian Country Music Association award winner, most recently as male artist of the year and songwriter of the year in 2015. Bamford also claimed the single of the year award at the 2015 CCMAs for his song Where a Farm Used to Be.

Well known in the country music community for his moving lyrics about love, family and friends, Bamford has shared the stage with artists including Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Brooks and Dunn and George Strait. Throughout his career, he has developed a reputation as a talented, true-to-your-roots performer who never fails to entertain.

Bamford’s latest full-length album, Country Junkie, debuted at No. 1 on the country album chart, spurred by the hit single When Your Lips Are So Close. He has a total of 18 Top 10 singles in Canada since his debut in 2008, success that proves Bamford’s music resonates with audiences from coast to coast.

“A powerful reminder of the power of music to comfort, console and inspire,” the Globe and Mail said of Bamford.

Also celebrated for philanthropic initiatives, Bamford gives back through his charitable organization, The Gord Bamford Charitable Foundation. The foundation has donated $2 million to charities including the Make a Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and children’s hospitals across Canada. Bamford is also the winner of the Country Music Association’s prestigious global country artist award.
