Acclaimed quartet performs at River Run Centre

GUELPH, ON December 1, 2017 – Sons of Serendip will perform classically infused arrangements of pop favourites and holiday classics when the soulful quartet takes the stage at River Run Centre on Sunday, December 17, at 2 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Richardson GMP Music Series.

Well-known for powerful live performances and outstanding musicianship, Sons of Serendip consists of lead vocalist Micah Christian, harpist Mason Morton, cellist and second vocalist Kendall Ramseur, and guitarist and pianist Cordaro Rodriguez.

From Massachusetts, Georgia and North Carolina, the members of Sons of Serendip first came together at Boston University in 2014. They went on to garner international attention as finalists on the ninth season of America’s Got Talent, winning wide praise for their reinventions of songs by artists including Chris Isaak, Duran Duran and Evanescence. The group’s most recent recording, Life + Love, was released in July this year.

“Alive with detail but silky beyond reason,” the New York Times said of Sons of Serendip.

Sons of Serendip will celebrate the holidays during their River Run Centre performance. The quartet’s 2015 album Christmas: Beyond The Lights includes classics such as God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Little Drummer Boy, O Holy Night and The Christmas Song, among others.

Tickets to see Sons of Serendip cost $42 for adults, $40 for seniors and students. $20 uGO tickets are available to university and college students with valid ID. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID.
