Deadline extended for chance to perform at River Run Centre

February 26, 2018

Guelph, ON February 26, 2018 – Aspiring performers, ages 13 to 19, have until Monday, March 19, 2018 to apply for an opportunity to perform on stage at River Run Centre as part of MusicWorks|StageWorks.

This deadline extension gives students until after March Break to apply for MusicWorks|StageWorks, a hands-on performing arts mentorship program for youth offered by River Run Centre in partnership with Guelph Youth Council and with sponsorship support from TD Bank Group.

Under the guidance of River Run’s technical, programming and marketing staff, and with support from Guelph Youth Council members, participants will learn about the various aspects of putting on a professional-style show. NEW for 2018 – River Run is pleased to announce the very talented Nathan Coles, a Guelph musician and multi-instrumentalist with extensive experience in musical composition, microphone technique and public performance, will join their team as a mentor during the dress rehearsals to enlighten and inspire students’ creative flare on stage.

The mentorship program is inclusive of music, theatre, spoken word, dance, short film and comedy, and offers aspiring performers real life experience in concept development, production and stage presence.

Rehearsals are scheduled in mid-April for two weeks, and the program will culminate in public performances in the first week of May to celebrate National Youth Week.

Applications are being accepted online at riverrun.ca/MWSWapply until Monday March 19, 2018. Anyone with questions about the program or application process should contact [email protected]
