Kenny vs. Spenny comes to River Run Centre Saturday, January 21

GUELPH, ON January 6, 2017 – Best friends Kenny Hotz and Spencer Rice will continue where they left off in their over-the-top television series, Kenny vs. Spenny, when they take the stage at River Run Centre on Saturday, January 21, at 8 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the GuelphToday.com Comedy Series.

In the tradition of their hit series, Hotz and Rice’s live performance of Kenny vs. Spenny will feature the pair competing for victory in insane challenges that see the best friends try to humiliate each other on stage. Each of their shows is unpredictable, with Hotz and Rice having no idea what challenges they’ll face each night. Kenny vs. Spenny contains extreme language and content and is recommended for audience members 18 and older.

“In their friendship-gone-sour comedy double act, Kenny’s the fire, but Spenny is the fuel,” CTV News says of Kenny vs. Spenny.

Hotz and Rice’s comedy series, Kenny vs. Spenny, first aired on CBC Television in 2003. The show centred around the two competing in outrageous competitions like Who Can Eat More Meat?, Who Can Stay on an Island the Longest? and Who Can Win a Rat Race?, with the loser performing a “humiliation.” In total, 89 original episodes of the show were produced over six seasons. The final episode, The Kenny vs. Spenny Christmas Special, aired in 2010.

More than a Canadian success, Kenny vs. Spenny was broadcast in over 25 countries and remakes using the same comedic formula were produced in the United Kingdom, Turkey, Colombia and the Netherlands. For fans of the series, Hotz and Rice’s River Run Centre performance certainly won’t disappoint.

Tickets to see Kenny vs. Spenny cost $45 for adults, $43 for seniors and students. $20 uGO tickets are available to university and college students with valid ID. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID. Tickets can be purchased at River Run Centre box office, 35 Woolwich St. in Guelph, by calling 519-763-3000, or online at riverrun.ca/kenny-vs-spenny.
