Beatrix Potter’s beloved characters come to life on stage at River Run Centre Sunday, November 6

GUELPH, ON October 20, 2016 – The magical and marvellous world of beloved children’s author Beatrix Potter will come alive on stage Sunday, November 6, at 2 p.m. when River Run Centre presents Peter Rabbit™ Tales. The Main Stage performance is a part of the centre’s Miijidaa Family Series.

Featuring fantastic costumes, whimsical puppets, breathtaking sets and original music, Peter Rabbit™ Tales sees Potter’s much-loved characters Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny all grown up. The production, staged by Enchantment Theatre Company in collaboration with the Estate of Beatrix Potter and Penguin Books UK, celebrates 150 years since Potter’s birth and her influence over generations of young readers.

“The energy in the audience during the show was palpable,” State Theatre said in a review of Peter Rabbit Tales. “I can’t remember when I’ve seen kids so completely engaged in a performance.”

In the stage production of Peter Rabbit™ Tales, nasty badger Tommy Brock is once again up to his troublemaking ways. When he steals Benjamin and Flopsy’s baby bunnies, cousins Peter and Benjamin set off on an adventure to rescue them. Along the way, they recruit Squirrel Nutkin, a cheeky squirrel who’s lost his tail, and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle to help in the effort.

While escaping from Mr. McGregor and his cat, outfoxing Mr. Tod and finally rescuing the bunnies, Peter and Benjamin relive their childhood misadventures. In the end, they experience a joyous reunion and all return home to live happily ever after.

Tickets to see Peter Rabbit™ Tales cost $24 for adults, $22 students and seniors and $20 for children 14 and under. $20 uGO tickets are available to university and college students with valid ID. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID.
