Legendary rocker performs his hits at River Run Centre April 8

GUELPH, ON March 21, 2018 – Kim Mitchell has been doing his “rock ‘n’ roll duty” since the 1970s, never failing to offer audiences music packed with energy and enthusiasm. The Canadian rock icon will perform his legendary hits at River Run Centre on Sunday, April 8, at 8 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Richardson GMP Music Series.

During the course of a four-decade career, Mitchell has become an indelible part of Canada’s musical landscape, penning hit songs including Go For Soda, Patio Lanterns, Rock ’n’ Roll Duty and I Am a Wild Party. Since first coming to the attention of music fans as leader of the eclectic Canadian band Max Webster resulting in various 70’s hits such as Diamonds Diamonds, High Class in Borrowed Shoes and Paradise Skies, Mitchell has sold more than 1.5 million records, with his albums achieving gold and multi-platinum status.

Mitchell is the winner of three Juno Awards, as well as a Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) Award for his hit single Patio Lanterns receiving 100,000 plays on radio.

While he has won the respect of Canadian music fans and his peers in the industry, Mitchell says his greatest achievement is the ability to take people on a journey during his live performances. Audiences say that participating in one of Mitchell’s concerts is like attending a live recording of his greatest hits box set.

“(My greatest achievement) is in the couple of hours the band is onstage, being able to take people to a special place through our performance and music,” Mitchell says. “When that happens, I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.”

Tickets to see Kim Mitchell cost $55 for adults, $53 for seniors and students. VIP Experience tickets including admission to the show, transportation by Red Car Service and dinner at Miijidaa Café and Bistro cost $125.
