Jann Arden sells out River Run show

February 12, 2015

Guelph, ON February 12, 2015 – Canadian born singer, songwriter, broadcaster and author Jann Arden plays to a sold-out house on Saturday, February 28 at 8 p.m. at River Run Centre. The performance comes on the heels of Arden’s latest JUNO Award nomination for her 2014 release, Everything Almost, which is a contender in the Adult Contemporary Album category (the JUNO Awards will be presented on March 15). Arden’s River Run concert is presented as part of the Richardson GMP Music Series.

Since catapulting into the spotlight with her debut album Time for Mercy in 1993 (which featured the hit single I Would Die For You) and following it up with 1994’s Living Under June (source of her breakout hit, Insensitive), Arden has remained a perennial fixture in the Canadian music scene, and more broadly, in Canadian arts and culture as a whole. This prolific artist has released a total of 12 albums, yielding 19 top ten singles. Her latest record Everything Almost saw her pair up again with Grammy Award-winning producer Bob Rock. The 11-track disc is receiving high praise, and has been described as “progressive, yet retaining the magic that is distinctly Jann.”

Should Jann take a JUNO home in 2015, she’ll have to make room on her trophy shelf for yet another industry accolade. To date she has received eight JUNO Awards including Female Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year and in 1997 she hosted the Awards ceremony. Arden is also the recipient of 10 SOCAN Awards, four Western Canadian Music Awards, a Much Music Video Award, three Prairie Music Awards and an Alberta Recording Industry Association Award. She is proudly featured on a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame; she has been inducted into the Canadian Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and has been given the Vantage Women of Originality Award. In 2012 she was awarded the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal and in 2013 was inducted into the Western Canadian Music Alliance Hall of Fame.

Tickets for this performance are sold out. To add your name to the waiting list or for more information, call the box office at 519-763-3000.
