Famed bunny siblings star in Max & Ruby in the Nutcracker Suite December 30 at River Run Centre

GUELPH, ON December 9, 2016 – Beloved bunny siblings Max and Ruby will bring a holiday tradition to life this Christmas season during Max & Ruby in the Nutcracker Suite at River Run Centre on Friday, December 30, at 6 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Miijidaa Family Series.

It’s Christmas Eve and Ruby is busy trimming the tree while Max is chasing the scent of Grandma’s freshly baked gingerbread cookies. A knock at the door reveals a large parcel from the bunnies’ Great Uncle Drosselmeyer. As the package is unwrapped, Ruby excitedly realizes that each toy inside is a part of the story of the famed Nutcracker ballet, including a nutcracker doll.

As Grandma reads the story of the Nutcracker, Max and Ruby’s imaginations whisk them away to a magical land where the bunnies become characters in Tchaikovsky’s beloved ballet. Dancing, singing and delicious treats follow, as Max and Ruby experience the wonder and excitement of the Nutcracker story. After an evening full of lively imagination, the bunny siblings head off to bed with visions of candy canes dancing in their heads.

Max & Ruby in the Nutcracker Suite is based on Rosemary Wells popular Max & Ruby book series and the animated television series Max & Ruby, aired internationally in Canada, the United States, Finland, France and Sweden.

Featuring enchanting choreography inspired by Tchaikovsky’s timeless ballet, Max & Ruby in the Nutcracker Suite is the perfect gift for kids this holiday season.
