Two-time Canadian Folk Music Award nominee performs at River Run Centre March 22

GUELPH, ON March 8, 2019 – Quickly becoming one of Canada’s leading voices as a singer, songwriter and live performer, Megan Bonnell spent the past three years honing her craft on tours across Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Bonnell will bring her captivating musical style to River Run Centre on Friday, March 22, at 8 p.m. The Co-operators Hall performance is presented as part of the Borealis Music Series.

A two-time Canadian Folk Music Award nominee, Bonnell’s music spans genres including folk, pop and rock. She recently released her third full-length album, Separate Rooms, a timely and bold recording that offers the musician’s take on some of life’s most profound moments. Met with widespread acclaim, Separate Rooms is presented with honesty and raw emotion.

“(Bonnell is) at her best when being forthcoming and vulnerable,” Barrie Today said of Bonnell.

Born and raised in Caledon, Ontario, Bonnell began her musical journey learning to play piano and guitar. Her debut album, Hunt and Chase (2013), represented growth from a rural Ontario upbringing to her emergence as one of the most unique voices in Toronto’s independent music scene. Bonnell released her second full-length album, Magnolia, in 2016.

During recent years, Bonnell played groundbreaking performances across North America, as well as at European festivals including BIME Live Festival in Bilbao, Spain, the Barcelona Jazz Festival and The End Festival in London, United Kingdom.
