Scrap Arts Music brings dazzling pop-percussion experience to River Run Centre Saturday, March 24

GUELPH, ON March 8, 2018 – Transcending language and culture, Scrap Arts Music offers a wildly theatrical and thoroughly entertaining pop-percussion experience. The acclaimed troupe with an environmental message will bring its high-energy show to River Run Centre on Saturday, March 24, at 7 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Miijidaa Family Series.

Featuring original music performed on instruments created with recycled materials, Scrap Arts Music offers a dazzling show firmly rooted in a green sensibility.

“Emotionally stirring music,” the Topeka Capital-Journal said of Scrap Arts Music. “Recycling can pay rich musical dividends.”

Scrap Arts Music performers will stage the troupe’s much-anticipated new show, Children of Metropolis, during their River Run Centre performance. Created by the creative team of Gregory Kozak and Justine Murdy, Children of Metropolis tells the story of a quest that changes the fate of the world, with the future of humankind depending on making the most from the least. The production features all-new invented instruments, original music and a cast of talented multi-instrumentalists.

Vancouver-based Scrap Arts Music has enjoyed many milestones since its creation in 2001. Among them are performing as part of the closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, performing in front of thousands of NBA fans and earning a nomination as best live performance at the West Coast Music Awards.
