Rock at River Run Centre with I Mother Earth and Finger Eleven

Famed Canadian alternative rock bands perform double bill Friday, January 11

GUELPH, ON January 2, 2019 – Two of Canada’s best-known alternative rock bands will come together when I Mother Earth and Finger Eleven take the stage for a powerful live performance at River Run Centre on Friday, January 11, at 8 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Richardson GMP Music Series.

I Mother Earth and Finger Eleven first rose to prominence during the 1990s on the strength of innovative recordings and powerful live performances. Their River Run Centre performance will see the bands play chart-topping hits from their celebrated careers as part of individual sets and uniting to take the stage together.

“If you’re a ’90s-era CanCon fan, hold on to your Doc Martens boot tabs,” Exclaim! magazine said of I Mother Earth and Finger Eleven joining forces for live performances.

First formed in 1990, Finger Eleven continues to win accolades for its distinctive sound chronicled on six studio albums. The Burlington-based band earned nine Juno Award nominations during its celebrated career, including a win for rock album of the year for their 2007 release Them vs. You vs. Me. Finger Eleven’s self-titled 2003 album achieved platinum status in Canada and gold status in the U.S., making the band a household name among rock music fans. The band released their latest recording, Five Crooked Lines, in 2015.

I Mother Earth is one of the best-known alternative rock bands in Canadian music history. The band released four successful studio recordings between 1993 and 2003, reaching the height of its fame during the mid-1990s. I Mother Earth’s 1993 album Dig achieved platinum status in Canada and its 1996 follow up recording, Scenery and Fish, achieved double-platinum status. Since reuniting with original lead singer Edwin in 2016, I Mother Earth has been in the studio working on new music, as well as continuing to put on outstanding live performances.

Tickets to see I Mother Earth and Finger Eleven cost $70 for adults, $68 for seniors and students. $20 uGO tickets are available to university and college students with valid ID. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID.
