Ron James set to put ‘Pedal to the Metal’ at River Run Centre

Famed Canadian comedian brings 2015 tour to Guelph Sunday, November 15

GUELPH, ON November 2, 2015 – With his keen eye for satire and kinetically-charged delivery, Ron James takes audiences on a non-stop comedy roller coaster ride. The famed Canadian comedian brings his 2015 Pedal to the Metal Tour to River Run Centre on Sunday, November 15, at 7 p.m. James will perform on the Main Stage as part of the Comedy Series presented by River Run Centre.

Hailed by critics from coast to coast, James has been touring the nation for 15 years, performing sold-out shows from the Maritimes to British Columbia. During marathon, side-splitting, performances, he cuts through contemporary culture using razor-sharp wit and uncompromising comedic standards. James’ recent material has touched on everything from social media and family to corporate spin and ISIS.

In addition to his stand-up performances, James resume includes starring in CBC Television’s The Ron James Show for five seasons, as well as creating and starring in two seasons of the television comedy series Blackfly. He has also written and starred in seven one-hour television comedy specials, several of which aired as part of CBC Television New Year’s Eve broadcasts.

James’ many accolades include a Gemini Award for his writing on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, a nomination in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Continuing Series category at the Canadian Screen Awards and a Comedian of the Year award at the Canadian Comedy Awards. He is also a recipient of the Dave Broadfoot Comedic Genius Award.
