Guelph band celebrates silver anniversary with October 16 performance, few tickets remain

GUELPH, ON October 2, 2015 – They’ve played at high-profile music festivals, on national television, in bars and even backyards, but The Kramdens decided to mark a milestone anniversary on home turf. The Guelph band will celebrate 25 years with a performance at River Run Centre’s Co-operators Hall on Friday, October 16, at 8 p.m. The concert is part of the Borealis Music Series presented by River Run Centre.

The Kramdens include well-known CBC Radio host Craig Norris on vocals and keyboard, Steve Knox on guitar, Robert Leader on drums and vocals, Mike Ostler on bass and vocals and Michael Plater Findlay on guitar and vocals. With their roots in the area, band members are excited about their River Run Centre performance. “We’ve been rehearsing our sets,” the band said in a recent social media post. “We’re pretty excited about resurrecting some songs you haven’t heard for a while.”

Along with the time-tested, The Kramdens are focusing on the new. As part of its silver anniversary, the band recently released a new record, No One Here is Reflecting Any Light. Many of the songs included on the recording had never been heard outside of the studio before its release, a departure from the band’s usual practice of developing songs in front of live audiences.

Through performances and five studio albums, The Kramdens have gained a reputation as one of Canada’s best live acts. With no plans to slow down, they will no doubt continue to write, record and play. The band’s tradition continues October 16 at River Run Centre.

Tickets to see The Kramdens cost $28 for adults and $26 for seniors. $20 uGO tickets are available for university and college students with valid ID. $5 eyeGO tickets are available for high school students with valid ID. Due to demand, availability for this performance is limited. Tickets can be purchased at River Run Centre box office, 35 Woolwich St. in Guelph, by calling 519-763-3000, or online at riverrun.ca/the-kramdens.
