Acclaimed Chinese acrobatic troupe performs at River Run Centre Saturday, February 24

GUELPH, ON February 9, 2018 – Witness The Peking Acrobats push the limits of human ability, defying gravity with amazing displays of contortion, flexibility and control, when the acclaimed Chinese acrobatic troupe takes the stage at River Run Centre on Saturday, February 24, at 7 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Miijidaa Family Series.

Rooted in centuries of Chinese folk art and history, The Peking Acrobats’s awe-inspiring feats and mesmerizing stage performances have been leaving audiences awestruck for more than three decades. The group combines its members’ amazing acrobatic abilities with traditional Chinese music and high-tech special effects to create an exuberant entertainment event. Members of The Peking Acrobats possess technical prowess at arts including trick-cycling, precision tumbling, juggling, somersaulting and gymnastics.

“The Peking Acrobats are pushing the envelope of human possibility,” the New York Post said of the troupe. “Pure artistry.”

Since their founding in 1986, The Peking Acrobats have performed around the world and been featured on television and in film. The group’s appearances include performances on Ellen DeGeneres’ Really Big Show, The Wayne Brady Show, That’s Incredible and ABC’s Wide World of Sports. On the silver screen, members of The Peking Acrobats were featured in Steven Soderbergh’s hit film Ocean’s Eleven, performing alongside Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt and George Clooney.

The Peking Acrobats have also performed with many of the most prestigious orchestras in North America, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic and San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.

Tickets to see The Peking Acrobats cost $49 for adults, $47 for seniors and students, and $25 for children 14 and under. $20 uGO tickets are available to university and college students with valid ID. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID.
