The Whole Shebang Guelph presents one-of-a-kind grand finale

September 11, 2015

September 11, 2015 Guelph ON – Everyone is invited to experience The Whole Shebang Guelph on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 3 p.m. at River Run Centre. The event, presented as part of Guelph’s Culture Days celebration, is free to public and suitable for all ages.

What to expect
Guests are invited to wander through a series of mini performances, installations, improvisations and interactive experiences created by River Run’s artists in residence with along with about 50 members from various community groups. The entire experience will involve more walking or standing than sitting. The pathway meanders through the entire building to intriguing behind-the scenes spots.

A sneak peak
A cozy nook in the upper foyer, complete with bean bag chairs, allows visitors to view Arms Reach, a micro tile installation by media artist Jenn E Norton. Arms Reach may be viewed in advance through the month of September. Jenn has also created a new interactive micro/macro installation for the event, featuring mirrors and projection.

Musician Amadeo Ventura is creating a huge musical instrument – complete with team spirit. Think basket balls and crazy rhythms in a backstage hall.

What about those typewriters?  Claire Tacon our writer in residence will express her love of words through projection, post cards and more in the Canada Company Hall.

Ishra Blanco and belly dancers from Invoketress will transform the Canada Company Hall – top to bottom – with colour and movement in a River of Veils.

Musician Bry Webb offers a multi-guitar installation in the Co-operators Hall. Visitors will be invited to make music, but in a completely different way. The floor as a sound box is the cue.

Dancer Megan O’Donnell creates a bird’s eye view that allows the public to regard the mover, writer and musician of this piece in a wholly unique way. This forced perspective is an extension of the narrative: three art forms reflecting upon themselves, only this time, from above.

The Whole Shebang Guelph’s Artistic Instigator, Andrea Nann of Dreamwalker Dance Company and guest collaborators Janet Morton, Katie Ewald and Elysha Poirier create interactive environments to heighten the experience, connecting individuals to a greater whole.
Advance viewings of Arms Reach by Jenn E. Norton are available
