Presented by Guelph Dance Festival:
20 years after its premiere, Julia Sasso reimagines Sporting Life in collaboration with a new generation of extraordinary interpreters. In a series of deliriously absurd vignettes, five characters reveal the futility of aggression and our potential for redemption. The piece timelessly mirrors our fragilities and perverse lust for violence.
In The Water Project: THIRST, Suzanne Miller and Allan Paivio reflect on the perilous crisis of water as a global issue. Thirst is a metaphor for knowledge, freedom, peace, and the pitted hunger of greed. Thirst happens when water is not flowing– metaphorically, when flow no longer exists. Thirst uses the flow of water as source for movement and meditates on flow/no flow as a metaphor.
