Presented by Guelph Symphony Orchestra:
The GSO brings you back in time to Paris 1913 as we recreate the brilliantly controversial and electrifying first performance of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. The riotous premiere of this magnificent work forever changed the path of 20th Century art and music. We will begin the performance with a concert talk onstage with the orchestra, followed by a re-enactment of that controversial event, and then a complete performance of one of the most exciting masterpieces of the orchestral repertoire.
