Pre-show Information for Teachers
Born in Vietnam, Huu Bac is a masterful player of a wide range of instruments including the dan bau (single chord Vietnamese instrument), the erhu (Chinese fiddle), the quena (Peruvian flute), and the guitar. In concert, his compositions skillfully combine his Vietnamese and Chinese heritages with North American jazz. Formed in Montreal, the Huu Bac Quintet features Guillaume Martineau on piano, Sébastien Pellerin on bass, Etienne Mason on drums, and Vanessa Marcoux on violin.
