    Pre-Information for Teachers

Fortunate Ones is a Canadian pop-folk duo made up of singer/guitarist Andrew James O’Brien and singer/pianist/accordion player Catherine Allan. Andrew and Catherine grew up on opposite sides of the island of Newfoundland. One night Andrew heard Catherine sing harmony with her brother. He sent her a note, and within 48 hours they were singing together on stage.

Fortunate Ones released their first album in February 2015, featuring guest appearances by several talented East Coast performers. Andrew and Catherine consider themselves fortunate to pursue their dreams, thus their name: Fortunate Ones.
