Discover a world of creatures that light up the darkness
GUELPH, ON March 19, 2026 — This one-of-a-kind, glow-in-the-dark show has been praised worldwide for its cutting-edge blend of puppetry, technology, and dance. It is creative, spellbinding, and literally electric, designed to bring audiences of all ages into a fantastical world of imagination. Dino-Light – Lightwire Theater illuminates River Run Centre’s Main Stage on Thursday, April 16 at 6 p.m.
Since 2012, New Orleans-based Lightwire Theater has been creating entertainment experiences that use light, technology, and music to tell captivating stories. Dino-Light is the company’s first feature-length theatrical production and was supported by the prestigious Jim Henson Foundation Grant, which they received in 2017. The result is a mesmerizing show that Rolling Stone calls “Absolutely incredible” and BroadwayWorld calls “An eye-popping display of storytelling that’s like nothing else you’ve ever seen.”
In this original story, a famous scientist with magic powers brings a friendly dinosaur to life. When the dinosaur wanders away from home, he discovers a wonderful world full of creatures that light up the darkness and help him find the true meaning of love.
Dino-Light was created by Lightwire Theater founders Ian Carney and Corbin Popp, who each boast eclectic careers in education and performance. Along with the rest of the cast and crew, they build all their sets and props from the ground up, using recyclable materials like aluminum rods, election signs, skateboard wheels, plumbing supplies, and more.
Supported by longtime Series Sponsor The Wooly Pub, this show is part of the Wooly Family Series, which features exciting and enriching events for the whole family. The show is also made possible by River Run’s Season Sponsor Richardson Wealth, and funding from the Government of Canada.
