Missy D is a bilingual female emcee, deeply influenced by the sounds of iconic artists like Missy Elliott, Ms. Lauryn Hill, MC Solaar, 2Pac, Diam’s, India.Arie, J Dilla, and J. Cole. Now based in Vancouver, BC, she is making waves in her community as a bilingual/francophone artist. She has performed at renowned events such as SXSW, NXNE, JUNO Fest, Vancouver Jazz Festival, Rifflandia, Festival du Voyageur, and many more.
Missy D has shared the stage with notable acts like Maestro Fresh Wes, Jully Black, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, K’naan, and Shaggy, to name a few. With her live band or a DJ by her side, she delivers an unforgettable experience and dynamic stage presence blending diverse soulful instrumentals and heartfelt lyrics that resonate with audiences of all ages, leaving them with a little French lesson, some good music, and a full heart.
