Members of Guelph Symphony Orchestra perform Mozart’s Magic Flute at River Run Centre Saturday, March 30
GUELPH, ON March 15, 2019 – Experience a classical music adventure designed especially for kids when members of the Guelph Symphony Orchestra perform Mozart’s Magic Flute at River Run Centre on Saturday, March 30, at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. The performances are presented in Co-operators Hall as part of the Wooly Kinderconcerts series.
Wooly Kinderconcerts introduce children aged five and under to the rich variety of instruments and sounds of the symphony. Members of the Guelph Symphony Orchestra play samplings of works by great composers, which provide the soundtrack to fun, interactive stories. Kinderconcerts are hands-on experiences kids learn from and remember, with audience participation highly encouraged.
In Mozart’s Magic Flute, the handsome Prince Tamino and his cowardly but good-natured friend Papageno set off on an adventure to rescue damsel in distress Princess Pamina. After meeting a queen who is not as nice as she seems and the villainous Monostatos, the prince, princess and Papageno must trust in the power of music to lead them through a dangerous adventure.
Featuring music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Mozart’s Magic Flute will include trumpet, French horn, trombone, violin, and of course, flute. The performance will explore the concept of pitch, as well as high and low tones.
Tickets to see Mozart’s Magic Flute cost $15 for adults, $13 for students and seniors, and $11 for children 14 and under. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID. Please note that everyone attending this performance must have a ticket, including infants and children.
