Trio of celebrated comedians reunite for hilarious variety show
GUELPH, ON February 4, 2026 — Comedy fans can expect an unforgettable evening with famed Canadian comics Peter Oldring, Pat Kelly, and Carolyn Taylor as they come together for the first time since their early days at The Second City. Part of the GuelphToday Comedy Series, A Perfectly Reasonable Evening of Comedy is set to induce uproarious laughter on River Run Centre’s Main Stage on Saturday, February 28 at 8 p.m.
Each of these celebrated personalities have carved impressive careers in the Canadian comedy landscape. They are all alumni of The Second City Toronto, the internationally renowned improv theatre troupe franchise where countless comedians, actors, and writers cut their comedy chops. Each of these comics is unapologetically original and relentlessly funny, excitedly reuniting for this one-of-a-kind show.
Carolyn Taylor is a co-creator and star of the hit CBC sketch comedy series The Baroness von Sketch Show, a three-time winner of the Canadian Screen Award for Best Sketch Comedy Program or Series (2017, 2018, 2019). She also created the original documentary comedy series I Have Nothing, released on Crave in 2023.
Pat Kelly is known for his sharp wit and absurd everyday observations, blending smart storytelling with biting satire. These comedic qualities are on full display in the acclaimed CBC Radio show This Is That, which he co-created and co-hosted. The program won the award for Best Radio Program or Clip at the Canadian Comedy Awards three years in a row (2011, 2012, 2013).
Peter Oldring is the other co-creator and co-hosting half of This Is That. He is known for his unpredictable humour and chameleon-like ability to inhabit ridiculous characters, including making ludicrously false claims on This Is That which were sometimes taken seriously by news outlets.
Presenting a little bit of what made This Is That and Baroness von Sketch Show comedic hits, this rare and hysterical reunion is made possible by Series Sponsor GuelphToday.com, Season Sponsor Richardson Wealth, program funding from the Government of Canada, as well as generous local donors who support the best of live performance on Guelph’s local stage.
