“Middle Raged” Shines the Light on the Reality of Aging in Sketch Comedy Revue

An acclaimed, hilariously relatable comedic introspective is coming to Guelph’s Main Stage

GUELPH, ON February 6, 2024 – Experience a night of hilarity as Geri Hall and Gary Pearson share the relatable woes of mid-life angst in Middle Raged, the original sketch comedy revue coming to River Run Centre’s Main Stage on Saturday, February 24 at 8 p.m. The show is part of the GuelphToday.com Comedy Series, which features a variety including standup, sketch, improv, and musical comedy. Middle Raged is directed by Mark Melymick, musical accompaniment by Jeff Rosenthal, with stage management by Nastazja Polonka.

Longtime friends and neighbours, Geri Hall and Gary Pearson combine their comedic prowess to explore the complexities of life between 30 and 65 years old. With tight comedic timing, cleverly constructed sketches, and smart, witty writing, the show delivers hilariously relatable observations on raising kids, financial stress, going to more funerals than weddings, and trying to keep romance alive through Outlander role play in the bedroom.

Currently touring across Canada, the show’s stop in Guelph follows rave reviews from audiences and industry critics alike. Geri Hall is thrilled to be starring in the new CBC sitcom One More Time, with DJ DeMers, which is on Tuesdays at 9 p.m., or streaming anytime on CBC Gem! She is best known for five seasons as a roving reporter and anchor on CBC’s iconic news satire, This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Hall got her start at The Second City Toronto, performing as part of the national touring company and mainstage cast. Her writing is sharp, and her delivery is perfectly toned to match her quick wit. She is winner of a Canadian Comedy Award, Gemini Award, and Writers Guild of Canada Award.

Gary Pearson is a familiar face on television, appearing in iconic Canadian sketch shows The Kids in the Hall and Baroness Von Sketch Show. He was a mainstage cast member with The Second City Toronto and toured North America with his comedy troupe, The Chumps. He is a celebrated comedy writer, writing for Mad TV, This Hour Has 22 Minutes, Corner Gas, and The Ron James Show. Pearson is the winner of a Canadian Screen Award, Canadian Comedy Award, and Writers Guild of Canada Award.
