Talented kids perform pop music hits and seasonal classics at River Run Centre

GUELPH, ON November 30, 2017 – Packed with positive energy, the Mini Pop Kids empower children to be confident and shoot for their dreams. The group of young singers will have the audience singing, dancing and sharing a festive time together when the Mini Pop Kids take the stage at River Run Centre on Saturday, December 16, at 2 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Miijidaa Family Series.

Renowned for high-energy performances, The Mini Pop Kids will showcase a selection of pop music’s biggest hits and some seasonal classics at River Run Centre. The group will be joined on stage by members of Guelph’s Emotion Dance Company and Kitchener’s Dimensions In Dance for some mega big dance numbers.

The Guelph performance is the first stop on a cross-Canada tour of their new show, Make It Pop. Singers promise to rock the house with kid-friendly versions of hits by today’s biggest music stars.

“I and the rest of the Mini Pop Kids are so excited to open the Make It Pop concert tour at River Run Centre,” said Jaylen, one of the nine performers. “The show will be so much fun and we can’t wait for the world to see it. Our holiday performance will definitely put you in the holiday spirit and bring joy, happiness and excitement to the best time of year.”

Today’s Mini Pop Kids carry on a proud tradition of talented kids creating family-friendly music. Launched during the 1980s, the original MINI POPS featured talented children between the ages of nine and 14 singing pop hits of the day as part of a chart-topping album series from K-tel records. The original group sold millions of albums in Canada, Australia, France, the United Kingdom and United States.

The Mini Pop Kids have carried on the Mini Pops tradition since 2004, the year K-tel re-launched the brand. Since then, the new group have released 15 albums, including multiple gold records and best sellers on iTunes and Amazon and have sold hundreds of thousands of records in Canada, with children, parents and teachers welcoming the group into their homes and classrooms.

Tickets to see the Mini Pop Kids cost $36 for adults, $34 for seniors and students and $32 for children 14 and under. $20 uGO tickets are available to university and college students with valid ID. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID.
