DeeDee Austin is a 19-year-old Indigenous pop powerhouse, and a proud sister of the Abegweit First Nation on PEI. DeeDee embraces contemporary and traditional Indigenous music to deliver her own style of music, which she delivers at infectiously high-energy performances. DeeDee’s authentic songwriting continues to bring her recognition in Atlantic Canada, and she is gaining momentum across the country. She has 19 awards and nominations including being named CBC Searchlight’s Outstanding Indigenous Artist and Music Nova Scotia’s 2024 Indigenous Artist of the Year.
She has won numerous other awards and nominations and is no stranger to entertaining crowds of more than 10,000 people! DeeDee also sat on the 2024 JUNOs event committee representing young emerging artists, youth, local artists, and the Mi’kmaq culture.
