Miijidaa Life Stories presented by River Run Centre:
A Life in Song
Each Miijidaa Life Story is like a perfectly mixed cocktail. Two parts conversation, one part live music (or video clips in the case of Santee Smith), one part question and answer and splashed with a dash of the unexpected. Each evening includes 2 – 40 minute interview sets and ends with a post-show meet and greet. And, everyone comes away with the story behind the person.
Musician and author Ian Thomas rose to international fame with his 1973 hit song Painted Ladies. During an illustrious career he’s earned a Juno Award, four SOCAN Awards and the prestigious UNICEF Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award. Thomas will discuss his musical journey, life as a writer and his long awaited recent works with host Cameron Smillie.
“Ian is a prolific songwriter with a significant body of work, and is truly a national treasure.” – Toronto Star
