JAZZ SESSIONS: Presented by River Run Centre
Canadian-grown big band jazz, big city sound
Founded in 1998, the 18-piece Toronto Jazz Orchestra continues to evolve their wide-ranging repertoire, from classic swing tunes to contemporary jazz. Whatever the style, they remain focused on compositions and arrangements by Canadian writers. This performance features Juno Award-nominated Heather Bambrick, who has been described as “Ella Fitzgerald meets Carol Burnett at a Newfoundland kitchen party.”
“Tight, swinging and passionate… Even the high register trumpet lines come off well executed, phrased with finesse and attention to every articulation mark.” – Glen Hall, Exclaim!
“Heather hits every right note.” – Mark Rheume, CBC Radio
