Flamingos Return to River Run with Decades of Danceable Hits

April 2, 2026

GUELPH, ON April 2, 2026 — Flamingos are a beloved band in Guelph for good reason — they put on one heck of a show! Last year, they broke in the dance floor at River Run Centre with spectacular renditions of Top 40 classics from across the decades. The city’s best-dressed band returns to the Main Stage for another unforgettable night on Friday, May 1 at 8 p.m.

With the Juno Awards this past weekend, Flamingos were featured as the backing band for several Juno nominees at the Canadian Independent Music Association’s industry party. With well-seasoned musical chops, Flamingos have earned a reputation of covering a broad range of genres to a T, and in Hamilton on Saturday, they expertly backed several of Canada’s favourite Juno nominees.

In their own live shows, Flamingos cruise seamlessly between oldies and hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s, taking the audience on a ride from rebel-rousing sock hops and jukebox joints to roller-rinks, pool halls, and penny arcades. Sprinkle in high school prom hits and classics from gymnasium dance halls, and that is the flavour of a Flamingos show. They celebrate nostalgic elements from top to bottom. In addition to classic hits, the band and their gear is decked out in pink sparkles, big sunglasses, and custom-made outfits.

Each bandmate has their own musical history, having written and played original music for decades. They have recently started incorporating their original music into shows, which pays homage to the classic bands and eras which they cover. With catchy originals and beloved classics, accompanied by a dance floor at River Run, Flamingos deliver a family-friendly dance party to remember.

Spencer Shewen, Artist Director of Mariposa Festival calls Flamingos the “best party band in town” and Jonny Dovercourt of Wavelength Music says they are “the tightest, snazziest, most on-brand, colour-coded cover band in the Eastern Standard Time zone!”

Supported by Series Sponsor Borealis Grille & Bar, Flamingos play as part of Borealis Music Series, which features a lineup of outstanding local artists. The show is also made possible by River Run’s Season Sponsor Richardson Wealth, and funding from the Government of Canada.

Tickets to Flamingos are $29 for general admission, $27 for patrons over 60, and $19 for those under 30 years old. Make it a party and save 10% for groups of 10 or more.
