Countermeasure brings outstanding Canadian vocal talent to the stage

GUELPH, ON October 16, 2019 – Smooth vocal stylings, joyful performances and infectious energy. Experience Canadian vocalists in sweet harmony when Countermeasure delivers a next-level a cappella experience at River Run Centre on Saturday, November 9, at 8 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Guelph Infiniti Music Series.

Led by award-winning composer and arranger Aaron Jensen, Countermeasure features 13 of Canada’s top vocal talents performing innovative arrangements of pop favourites, jazz standards and original compositions. Countermeasure’s dramatically choreographed show has entertained audiences across Canada and around the world, including at Edinburgh’s Festival Fringe, Italy’s renowned Vocalmente Festival and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

The members of Countermeasure incorporate innovative live looping, instrument imitation, vocal percussion and flawless harmonies to create an array of unique and memorable sounds.

As an added bonus, ticket holders to the November 9th performance can attend a free workshop in the afternoon before the show to learn innovative a cappella techniques from the masters.

Countermeasure is a multiple-time Contemporary A Cappella Society of America award winning group, with accolades for best album, best video and songwriting, among others. Since forming in 2010, the group has shared the stage with a cappella giants including Naturally 7 and The Swingle Singers, as well as Top 40 stars including Blue Rodeo and Corey Hart. Countermeasure is also a founding artist of SING! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival, Canada’s premier a cappella event.

Tickets to see Countermeasure cost $45 for adults, $43 for seniors and $20 for those under 30.
