Members of iconic musical family perform at River Run Centre Saturday, April 2

GUELPH, ON March 18, 2016 – An iconic family’s musical inspiration and rich tradition of pushing musical boundaries will be showcased during The Leahys – In Song at River Run Centre. The Main Stage performance is presented on Saturday, April 2, at 8 p.m. as part of the Richardson GMP Music Series.

Members of The Leahy family have played, danced and shared their talents around the world, gaining critical acclaim for their traditional, celtic-inspired music and outstanding live performances. Taking influence from Irish, Scottish, French-Canadian and Cape Breton musical traditions, the family has won a legion of fans for its members’ outstanding and unique talents.

The Leahys – In Song features five of the seven Leahy sisters – Denise, Erin, Julie Frances, Siobheann and Maria – along with brother Frank on drums. In the new family group, The Leahys put their focus on singing and songwriting, drawing from individual musical interests and influences. They blend not just their voices, but their stories, instruments and musical styles.

Several members of The Leahys are also part of The Leahy Family and Leahy, both groups well-known in Canada and internationally for performing celtic, traditional and roots music. As The Leahys, members of the family explore new directions and push new musical boundaries.

Tickets to see The Leahys – In Song start at $39 for adults and $37 for seniors.
