A moving tribute to country music’s greatest female performers

Performance of Lisa Brokop: Legendary Ladies of Country brings music of iconic artists to life

GUELPH, ON March 21, 2019 – Experience the songs and stories country music’s greatest female performers when Lisa Brokop: Legendary Ladies of Country arrives at River Run Centre on Thursday, April 4, at 8 p.m. The Main Stage performance is presented as part of the Richardson GMP Music Series.

Legendary Ladies of Country features Brokop and fellow country singers Patricia Conroy and Amanda Wilkinson performing songs by iconic artists including Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Tanya Tucker and Emmylou Harris. In addition to presenting songs by the beloved artists, the trio will share stories about what the legendary performers and their songs mean to them. Brokop, Conroy and Wilkinson also perform some of their own originals.

For Brokop, Legendary Ladies of Country is another step in a more than 25-year career.

“I love what I do,” Brokop says. “Every note I sing, whether in the studio or from the stage, is true… It is the love of the music that motivates each step I take in the business. It keeps me moving forward. And I think fans feel and appreciate that love.”

Brokop garnered awards and nominations from the Canadian Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music. As well as recording eight of her own albums, she penned songs performed by artists including Reba McEntire, Terri Clark and Pam Tillis. Prior to Legendary Ladies of Country, Brokop recorded and staged The Patsy Cline Project, which paid tribute to Cline’s music with renditions of some of her most memorable songs.

Talented country singers Wilkinson and Conroy will help Brokop bring Legendary Ladies of Country to life. Wilkinson is well-known as a solo artist and member of her family band, The Wilkinsons. Conroy enjoyed a successful career in Canadian country music spanning five studio albums.

Tickets to see Lisa Brokop: Legendary Ladies of Country cost $45 for adults, $43 for seniors and students. $20 uGO tickets are available to university and college students with valid ID. $5 eyeGO tickets are available to high school students with valid ID.
